James’s scorching eyes peered over the school bus seat, obscured by the evening amber light reflecting off his glasses. As the bus’s autopilot ripped through the gravel roads towards the high school, he sulked quietly in the back while he stared at the disgusting sight of Robbie standing so comfortably at the front row. His arms were stretched across the aisle, letting his computer bag hang in front of him. The two had been staring at each other since Robbie got on, with the only movement being their illuminated breath drifting throughout the winter air. Everything was quiet until Robbie bolted towards him.
The bus came to a sudden stop with the automated voice announcing their arrival. Robbie took one last look at the two before whipping his head around to bolt towards the door, leaving a puff of dandruff in his wake. James and Alyssa both rolled their eyes and soon followed.
